A nation shrouded in mystery, Albania remains a question mark for most. Under a nearly five-decade-long communist dictatorship led by Enver Hoxha, the country was effectively isolated from the outside world under his reign.

During Hoxha's time in power, the Albanian population lived under extreme surveillance which has undeniably shaped the history and culture of the country. 

Emerging from the dictatorship in the 1990s following Hoxha's death, Albania began to emerge from years of seclusion and quickly embarked on a journey to find its identity.

With some of the most beautiful coastlines in the world, a mountainous hinterland reminiscent of the Dolomites, and hip cities like Tirana, Sarandë, and Shkodër, Albania is a nation begging to be explored.
